Nong Kaeo is really calming with plenty of green areas that make outdoor walks a pleasure. Being close enough to Hang Dong’s shopping malls means you aren’t isolated and can still get a decent variety of choices without sacrificing tranquility. It felt like a peaceful retreat where I could actually slow down and enjoy life after spending so much time in busier parts of Chiang Mai.

Negatives

Public transportation was definitely limited, so having a bike or motorbike felt almost necessary. Also, options for dining weren’t very varied nearby, which sometimes made it tricky after a long day when I didn’t feel like cooking or driving far out to eat.
