Positives
Makkasan has been home to myself for almost 5 years now - It boasts access to MRT Phetchaburi as well as the airport link. You can quickly get to BTS Nana and BTS Asok via the MRT or a bike taxi for around 30thb. There are lots of local restaurants and bars - also regarding condos and aprtments in Bangkok the rates are pretty fair from mid range to luxury. It's a central area that gives easy access to the heart of Sukhumvit road and all that Bangkok has to offer! If you're travelling around Thailand on business a lot then the airport link is very handy as you can get to and from Suvarnabhumi Airport very easily - not having to worry about traffic when getting to the airport is a massive plus when on a tight schedule! All round it's been a great place to live and I recommend it to anyone wanting options to access most areas of Bangkok conveniently. Good for socialising and for business.
Negatives
Being in the heart of the city means traffic gets crazy, as well as the pollution and noise that comes with this. However if you're on high floors with decent windows/Air conditioning then you can ignore all of that at home and enjoy the views. Also unlike other areas there aren't parks in the district itself really - you need to head to Lumpini Park or Benjakiti park to see some greenery - on a motorbike you can get access in 10-15 minutes however.

Positives
Having lived in this building for almost 5 years I can safely say it's a great place to live. The facilities are decent - including a gym that's way above average for most building in Bangkok. The pool is always clean and it also has an Onsen, Sauna and Steam room. Staff are always friendly as are the security. The location is a shuttle(provided) ride away from Petchaburi MRT - you can hop a motorbike taxi for 30thb to BTS Nana. If you walk 5 minutes across the road you can enter the back of Soi 11 which is good for food, music and entertainment with lots of choices available. All round if you're an expat in Bangkok looking for a good place to live then Circle Living Prototype is a great option!
Negatives
The downsides are the same as all of the building in Bangkok, pollution and heavy traffic. The roads front and back can get very congested in the evenings so you need to be careful. The security do assist with this however.

Are there pros/cons of buying a condo on Thong Lo vs Ekkamai? Or are they similar?

Thong Lor and Ekkamai are very close to each other. Just a street over, however Ekkamai typically is better value yet still just 5-10 min away.

While close to each other, Thonglor is more developed and has numerous shops, bars and restaurants. It is a more "desirable" neighbourhood and in demand. It will attract higher prices for both rent and sale. Ekkamai is a developing area, and will eventually catch up to Thonglor. So, if you like trendy areas, Tonglor will be your more expensive option, if you prefer to stretch your budget a little further, Ekkamai is a good option with a strong potential to increase in value.
