Soi Ta-iad Phuket: 11 Gyms and Fight Camps on Fitness Street (2026)

Drive through Chalong at 6 am and you will see people jogging in boxing shorts, carrying gloves, or walking back from a sunrise class. You are on Soi Ta-iad. Some people spell it Soi Taied, others just call it Fitness Street. We call it the easiest place in Phuket to get in shape.

Soi Ta-iad Phuket is a street of about 1.5 km that links Chao Fa East Road and Chao Fa West Road, close to Wat Chalong. In one short walk you pass Muay Thai camps, MMA gyms, CrossFit boxes, a full sports complex, healthy cafes and small hotels. In this guide I list only the gyms and clubs that sit on the soi itself, with the things you actually need: address, opening hours, phone number, map link and price.

Quick Summary

  • Best big all-rounder: Tiger Muay Thai, with Muay Thai, MMA, BJJ, boxing and fitness under one roof.

  • Best value for Muay Thai: Apollo Camp, at 500 THB a class or 7,000 THB a month.

  • Best for BJJ and MMA: Lions MMA Club, with drop-ins from 450 THB.

  • Cheapest gym access: Superfit and KONG, both with 250 THB day passes.

  • Most like a sports club: LUDUS Sports Complex, with a 25 m pool, spa, yoga, cycling and fight training.

Prices below were current in late 2026. Gyms change rates often, so always confirm before you pay.

Why Soi Ta-iad Is So Popular

The street started with a few Muay Thai camps. More camps brought more active travellers, and those travellers brought cafes, smoothie bars, massage shops and guesthouses. Today you can train, eat and sleep without ever needing a car.

  • Train twice a day: most camps run a morning and an afternoon session, and the next gym is a few minutes away on foot.

  • Recover properly: ice baths and saunas are on offer at places like KONG, Unit 27 and LUDUS.

  • Everyday shopping is easy: Robinson Lifestyle Chalong sits at the Chao Fa East end of the soi, with a supermarket, food court and cinema.

  • A real hill to climb: the road up to the Big Buddha starts a few minutes from the Chao Fa West end, and it is the favourite long run for serious fighters.

Tips Before Your First Class

  1. Book a single class or a day pass first. Every gym feels different, so try two or three before you buy a month.

  2. Ask if the price includes VAT. Some camps, like Tiger, add 7% on top.

  3. Train early or late. Midday in Phuket is hot, and most group classes run in the morning and late afternoon for that reason.

  4. Bring your own hand wraps and a towel. Some gyms lend gear, but your own is cleaner and fits better.

Living Near Soi Ta-iad

near-soi-ta-iad-in-phuket

A lot of people come to Soi Ta-iad for one week and end up staying for months. When that happens, a hotel room gets expensive fast, and renting or buying a place nearby starts to make more sense.

Chalong has a good mix of condos and pool villas within a short ride of the soi. You can start by browsing our properties for sale in Phuket, or look at Chalong projects such as Wyndham Fantasea Condo Chalong and Chalong Miracle Lake View.

If you plan to buy, keep the basics in mind. Foreigners can own a condo unit freehold as long as the building stays within its 49% foreign quota. Foreigners cannot own land outright, so villas are usually bought on a registered lease. Rules can change, so always check your case with a licensed Thai lawyer before you sign.

Ready to make Soi Ta-iad part of your daily routine? Pick a gym, book your first class, and when you are ready for a longer stay, our Phuket listings are a good place to start your search.
